I live in Bakersfield, Ca and only seldom get exposed to local frost and snow. This is good for me and for my outdoor plants as we really don’t appreciate turning into icicles.
None-the-less some years ago, we were offered a chance to experience how it felt to live in Antarctica. All of us huddled together in cozy bundles and developed numerous strategies for when it was feasible to go outside with only the “normal” weather to contend with.
My plants fought valiantly but some still succumbed to the ravages of frost especially a young bougainvillea growing by the front entrance. The green plant morphed into a brown woody body appearing to be devoid of life.
Believing that miracles are possible I watered the plant on a regular basis, but it took no notice of my efforts and continued its’ woody existence.
I kept watering the bougainvillea simultaneously with taking care of the survivors. Several months later I noticed a small green leaf peeping out at the base of the plant. My first thought was that the leaf must be a weed that found its’ way into the flower bed. Then I noticed additional leaves in the same location, and decided that perhaps the bougainvillea had recovered the onslaught of winter.
There is no doubt that the plant survived and seems to be healthy. It’s growing bigger and has flowers and everything appears to be the way nature intended.
This made me think of HypnoBirthing ® and how precious life is in all of its manifestations. A baby who has participated in HypnoBirthing classes with his mother has a high probability of being sweet and calm after birth.
HypnoBirthing moms connect to their baby immediately after birth, HypnoBirthing babies reciprocate the love they receive and form a warm and trusting relationship with mom.
The majority of HypnoBirthing births are boring and uneventful the way nature intended. Special circumstances surround other HB births and that’s acceptable they are still HypnoBirthing births. The important point is that nature will provide when we supply plenty of nourishment and get out of the way to give space for life to unfold.
