Hypnobirthing, blood pressure and Group B Strep

Today I had a wonderful hypnosis session for optimal blood pressure with my Hypnobirthing instructor, Stella.  It was very beneficial.  I typically have low to normal BP, but my first pregnancy, slight elevation near the end of pregnancy led to undesirable interventions.  The primary benefit was a sense of well being!  I generally get very edgy waiting upwards of an hour and a half for my doctors appointments, but I felt extremely well and pleasant as I waited.   Appointment went great, and blood pressure was normal after the end of a long work day.  Most of my low readings are in the AM. It appears at nearly 30 weeks, baby is still feet down, which is nothing to be noted as of yet.  I also found out I am Group B Step positive.  This is no surprise since it’s a recurring phenomena and I was group B strep positive with my son.  My Hypnobirthing instructor has given me lots of info on this and I’ve done some research as well on how to handle my birth preferences of no IV during labor.  I do want mobility while I go through surges, and I do want my baby to be safe as well.  I will further research my options, as I like to be over informed and I’m certain whatever decision I make, it will be what is best for baby!

Hypnosis has many benefits and is free of negative side effects. Excellent that you were able to maintain your relaxation and well-being while you were waiting to see the doctor.
Most HypnoBirthing instructors are not medically trained and therefore don’t give medical advice. We usually have access to lots of varied information which we share with our students at their request.

Thank you Stella! I reviewed one of the articles you gave me regarding Group B strep, which was very informative. Tonight I will put all of my Hypnobirthing articles in a folder in Outlook for easy reference. :)
