For many women, the thought of experiencing childbirth presents mixed emotions. On one hand, there is the overwhelming excitement and awe that comes with delivering a new life into the world, and then on the other hand, there is the natural fear of the pain that is caused by that process. But, what if there was a way to experience childbirth without the pain, fear and tension? This is the basic premise surrounding HypnoBirthing.
All about HypnoBirthing -– What is HypnoBirthing?
When one considers Lamaze, the goal of the breathing exercise is to relax the body as much as possible to allow for a smoother and more comfortable birth. In HypnoBirthing, hypnosis, either self-induced or hypnotherapist-assisted, is used to bring the mother-to-be into a state of relaxation and comfort previously unattainable through more traditional methods.
By being in a state of relaxed consciousness, yet fully awake and aware, the body’s muscles are better able to handle the process of childbirth, thus significantly reducing the level of physical tension and pain otherwise experienced.
